#30ShadesOfGrateful – #Day14

On the first day God created the dog. God said, “Sit all day by the door of your house and bark at anyone who comes in or walks past. I will give you a life span of twenty years.” The dog said, “That’s too long to be barking. Give me ten years and I’ll give you back the other ten.”
So God agreed.

On the second day God created the monkey. God said, “Entertain people, do monkey tricks and make them laugh. I’ll give you a twenty-year life span.” The monkey said, “Monkey tricks for twenty years? I don’t think so. Dog gave you back ten, so that’s what I’ll do too, okay?”
And God agreed.

On the third day God created the cow. “You must go to the field with the farmer all day long and suffer under the sun, have calves, and give milk to support the farmer. I will give you a life span of sixty years.”
The cow said, “That’s kind of a tough life you want me to live for sixty years. Let me have twenty and I’ll give back the other forty.”
And God agreed again.

On the fourth day God created man. God said, “Eat, sleep, play, marry and enjoy your life. I’ll give you twenty years.”
Man said, “What? Only twenty years? Tell you what, I’ll take my twenty, and the forty the cow gave back, and the ten the monkey gave back, and the ten the dog gave back, that makes eighty, okay?”

Okay,” said God, “You’ve got a deal.”

So that is why the first twenty years we eat, sleep, play, and enjoy ourselves; the next forty years we slave in the sun to support our family; the next ten years we do monkey tricks to entertain the grandchildren; and the last ten years we sit on the front porch and bark at everyone.

Life has now been explained to you.

#30ShadesOfGrateful – Day 8

I am grateful for MISTAKES.

The beauty in mistakes are that we have already done them. It’s done it’s over!

When you have committed a mistake it’s out of the way, you can go on with your life with one less possible mistake to make.

(Hold on, this is for the ones who learn from their mistakes)

In my young life, I have made a truck loads of mistakes. Some that I have made me a better person, some that have injured me beyond repair, some that I am yet to learn a lesson from.
I have made mistakes, consciously and unconsciously. Through it all I have learnt that my patterns of actions should be different if I have to make good for myself.

Mistakes sometimes break you, injure your friends and people that you hold dear. Mistakes sometimes mold you, and strengthens your cords with others. Mistakes provides the bed rock of life.

I would like to believe that I am a better person because of all the mistakes I have made. Even if I have not become a better person, I have learnt lessons that I can pass on to other people.

If I can I would avoid making mistakes, but my fear is not making mistakes, but failing to stand up and learn from them.

I am grateful for MISTAKES.

#30ShadesOfGrateful – Day 6

Today I am grateful for WANDERING

When we were younger we had a clear cut dream of what we wanted to be. We could sit and conjure amazing things that we want to do and to be. We started our primary education with this vibe, acting and singing out all the things we would become when we become adults. Our teachers told us that if we studied hard, played less, and passed our exams we would be great people in future and we believed them. Looking at our goals through our little eyes.

We grew to our teenage years, and High school teachers made us feel like we were closer now to our dreams. They told us that if we studied hard, played less and passed our exams we would be even greater people in future.
This time our dreams were a lot more defined, probably not be realistic but it was a lot more structured.
And we saw it through our little wide eyes.

Then came our 20s

At this point, it probably seems like our dreams are further than we thought. We get somewhat trapped in life and seems like we aren’t going anywhere. This might not be the case for some of us. We feel like we aren’t making head way, like our world is closing in on us. We are probably stuck in a job we don’t like, or studying a course we despise or even studying a course that we once loved, but no longer appeals to us. Our dreams no longer seems to be real or even achievable.

We are wanderers. Wandering through a phrase of life that seems bleak and or unending. We can no longer feel our purpose, it’s seems all hope is lost. Everyone seems to have advise to give us about our life is not taking shape, about how we are useless, not coordinated, without a dream.

I’m at this point of my life. The point were I feel that I am further from my dream than I have ever been. However I am comforted with the knowledge that this point is my growing process. It’s my growing process, the time for me to strengthen my wings.
I am not lost in this cluster of all my failures. I’m not useless. I am worth something.

I might not be were I want to be but I know that I’m going to get there. I don’t know how long it would take me, I don’t know when, but I am gaddamn certain that I am going to get there. Yes I’m wandering but I am not lost.

I am grateful for WANDERING

#30ShadesOfGrateful – #Day1

Hey guys,

The year is almost over yaaaay!

So guys, I gave my self the challenge to write every day for 30 days. I was inspired by a friend who gave himself the challenge to write for 1000 days and he is already on Day 500 and something.

I’m trying to teach myself discipline and consistency and this is part of my training.

For the next 30 days I’m going to be talking about the things I’m grateful for.

Today, I’m grateful for INTERNET. Can you imagine how life sucked without Internet? No google to ask your dumbest questions, no twitter to write your silliest thoughts, no Instagram to outdo each other on, no Facebook, no Ebooks to download, videos to stream! No internet!!!!

I wouldn’t even have this platform to rant and share my thoughts with you guys! I’m really really grateful for internet.

No matter how far you are you are really not that far anymore thanks to internet. Phew boy, you gotta be grateful for this one.

So that’s my first. I’d see you tomorrow!
